Ok, I've gotta say. this was the first question I've starred. I mean, leg of lamb, nice. That's going to be delicious, man. you better ******* save me some. And as for a recipe, yeah, no big deal, you could do it provencal style. Just trim and bone your leg of lamb, and then butterfly it. get some fresh thyme, rosemary, and marjoram, and I like to throw in a little parsley too, and chop it all up, coarsely, a few cloves of garlic, coarsely chopped, and one lemon, zested, and juiced, and some extra virgin olive oil. mix it all together, and rub it all over that lamb, inside and out. marinate the lamb for about 2-3 hours in the fridge. take it out, and bring it to room temp, and then season it generously with salt and pepper. roast it int he oven at 375 for about 25 minutes, and then put it under the broiler for another 3 minutes, till it's nice and caramelized on top. let it rest for about 10 minutes, so the juices settle, and carve that ***** up. and save me some.June Said:

Crockpot Leg of Lamb--------------------
Take a half-leg of lamb (small enough to fit into your crockpot) and a
garlic bulb. Peel and thickly sliver 8-12 cloves of garlic (I used a
whole bulb). Use a sharp paring knife to make slits about an inch or
so apart all over the leg of lamb and stuff garlic slivers into the slits,
then put the lamb into the crockpot with a little water (maybe 1/3 c.). You
could sear the lamb in a pan first to brown it, but since I was starting
this very late at night I didn't bother and it was fine. Cook 5-6 hours on
auto-shift for fairly well-done lamb. Remove from crockpot, carve and
serve. Save broth, bones and leftovers for another dish (see following
recipe). I suppose you could also add chunks of carrots, etc to cook with
the leg of lamb.

I would pierce its skin all over with a knife and insert peeled garlic cloves and sprigs of rosemary all over, pushing them under the skin. Then when it's cooked you get that lovely flavour permeating through.Then pop it in the oven on a low temp (no more than 180) for aaages (at least 2 or 3 hours) and let it cook really slowly so it will be tender. You can't rush a leg of lamb. Maybe splash a sploosh of olive oil over it first just to get it going.
You can put some potatoes in the dish too so they roast in the cooking juices.
