Yes you can. Here's a recipe.Seafood Jambalaya
3 cups of uncooked rice
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup olive oil
1 pound raw Louisiana shrimp, your favorite size
salt, to taste
Tony Chachere’s Original Creole Seasoning, to taste
lemon pepper, to taste
1 yellow onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
1 red pepper, chopped
4 ribs celery, chopped
4 to 6 cloves of garlic, minced
1 8-ounce carton fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 10-ounce can Rotel tomatoes
2 bay leaves
1 pound Louisiana crawfish tails
1 pound lump Louisiana crabmeat
1 bunch green onions, sliced
1/2 bunch parsley, minced
Cook the rice according to the package directions. In a large Dutch oven, melt the butter. Add the olive oil and sauté the shrimp for 5 to 7 minutes. Season the shrimp with salt, Tony Chachere’s, and lemon pepper while they are cooking. Remove the shrimp and set aside. Sauté the onion, peppers, celery, mushrooms and garlic for 5 to 9 minutes. Add the Rotel tomatoes and the bay leaves. Cook for 10 more minutes. Return the shrimp to the pot and add the crawfish tails; cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add the crabmeat, green onions, and parsley. Mix in cooked rice, adjust seasonings, and remove from heat. Let stand about 5 minutes before serving (for the flavors to marry). Serve hot.

Do you think plutocrats in DC will miss the Sweet Gulf Shrimp as they eat their100 dollar plate dinners in DC?We Answered:
To Major Deek:1. Shrimp on bottom of water
2. Oil on top of water ...
3. Unless millions of gallons of dispersant has kept the oil below the surface.
4. Shrimp caught on the bottom of the water are hauled through the top of the water (where the oil is).
5. Shrimp are part of an ecosystem that includes the top of the water and shorelines.
6. If life at the top of the water is hosed, and life at the shorelines is hosed, in time the shrimp will be hosed as well.
Pretty basic stuff.
But, hey, President Obama is the largest recipient of BP bribes .... er campaign contributions, and has done nothing to take a leadership role in this disaster. He's given BP free reign to dome the leak, suck at it with a straw, plug it with garbage, keep independent scientists from analyzing it. Obama has done everything except to call in the military to use explosives to blast the well shut (something the Russians did back in 1966) because, well darn it, BP would lose their investment.
Obama played politics while the Gulf Coast died.
Obama, the best president money can buy!

What is the best shrimp? Gulf? Alaskan? Maine? We Answered:
I haven't tasted Alaskan shrimp but I prefer Maine shrimp to any of the big warm water shrimp. Since Alaska shrimp grow in cold water I would expect them to be similar.
