recipe for shrimp alfredo?

We Answered:

Of course you can substitute shrimp.

Saute the shrimp in a little butter and olive oil until they are just done. Then toss with the pasta and sauce.

You can use already prepared alfredo sauce that you can get down the pasta aisle in a refrigerated unit. There are hundreds of recipes online. It's not difficult to make: cream and cheese, essentially.

But shrimp would be a perfect addiction.

I need a great chicken/shrimp alfredo fettuccine recipe?

We Answered:

is 5 stars great enough? just cook your chicken or shrimp beforehand and drop it into the sauce when it's simmering.

Ingredients

* Kosher salt
* 1 pound dry egg fettuccine
* 1/3 cup unsalted butter
* 2 cups heavy cream
* 2 pinches freshly grated nutmeg
* 1 1/2 cups freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese
* Freshly ground black pepper

Directions

Bring a large pot of water to a boil and salt generously. Boil the pasta until al dente, tender but still slightly firm.

Meanwhile in a large skillet over medium heat melt the butter and whisk in the cream and nutmeg and bring just to a simmer. Lower the heat to keep the mixture just warm.

Drain the pasta in a colander and reserve some of the cooking water. Add the pasta to the cream mixture, toss with the cheese, and season with salt and pepper to taste. If the pasta mixture has become thick and tight, thin it with some of the reserved cooking water. Serve immediately in heated bowls.

Fettuccine Alfredo recipe with shrimp?

We Answered:

Rinse shrimp under warm running water in a colander to thaw; drain well. Put a Tbsp of olive oil and a Tbsp of butter in a large saute pan. Crank up heat to high, add your shrimp. They should cook in no time.. like 1-2 minutes. Add some chopped garlic and parsley for fanciness, if you like. Then douse it all w/ your jar of sauce. Lower heat to med-low.

Meantime, boil your pasta. When done, drain and add to saute pan w/ sauce/shrimp. Toss and stir w/ tongs to coat. Serve. Wonder why you haven't made this sooner. :-)
