Ian Said:What is the right recipe for the Irish stew?
We Answered:If you can open the can of pineapple, eat it on the side. I'd let Montmorency keep the rat for himself, more stew for the three of you. Should any dead bodies turn up, don't add them. If turnips turn up, that would be okay.
And don't light a fire in the boat. Write to me from Oxford, and don't bother going further.
Irish stew is whatever you make of it.

Jenny Said:Does anyone know the recipe for boiled herbal egg? With brown stew n herbs in a crockpot?
We Answered:Hi, you're most probably referring to 茶葉蛋, translated as Tea Leaf Egg. Its a very common snack food and I'm quite a fan of it..
Here's a simple recipe, you can get most of the ingredients at the grocery store. Try the asian grocery stores nearby if you can't find the dried mandarin peel, it gives a sweet flavour and aroma to the egg.
3 tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon black tea leaves or 1 tea bag
4 pieces star anise
1 small stick cinnamon or cassia bark
1 teaspoon cracked peppercorns (optional)
2 strips dried mandarin peel (optional)
1. Place unshelled eggs in saucepan of cold water – water level should be at least 4 cm (1-1/2") higher than eggs. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 2 minutes.
2. Remove the eggs. With a knife, tap each egg to slightly crack the shells in two or three places. Return to saucepan.
3. Add other ingredients and stir. Cover and simmer for 2 hours, adding water as necessary. Drain, serve hot or cold.
